Visits and Triage

Use this guide to start a visit, place the patient in the clinic queue, and capture vitals before consultation.

Start a visit

  1. From the main dashboard, click Healthcare.
  2. Click Visits.
  3. In the Start visit form, click the Patient dropdown.
  4. Select the patient. If the patient is missing, go back to Patients and create the patient first.
  5. Click Visit type and choose Appointment, Walk-in, Follow-up, or Emergency.
  6. Click Scheduled start and choose the appointment date and time.
  7. Enter Reason for visit.
  8. Enter the Practitioner name if known.
  9. Click Save visit.

Move the patient to triage

  1. Stay on Visits.
  2. Find the patient in the Clinic queue.
  3. Click Triage on the patient row.
  4. If the queue looks stale, click Refresh.

Capture triage vitals

  1. Click Healthcare, then click Triage.
  2. In the Waiting list, click the patient's name.
  3. Enter Temperature.
  4. Enter Systolic BP and Diastolic BP.
  5. Enter Heart rate, Respiratory rate, Oxygen saturation, and Weight.
  6. Click Priority and choose Routine, Priority, Urgent, or Emergency.
  7. Add Notes when needed.
  8. Click Save triage.

Send the patient to consultation

  1. Go back to Visits.
  2. Find the patient in the clinic queue.
  3. Click Consult.
  4. Confirm the patient appears in the Consultations waiting list.

Use Emergency priority only when the clinic intends to interrupt the normal queue. Priority affects how clinicians read the waiting list.
