Leave Management

Use this guide to manage employee leave requests from creation through approval or rejection.

Create a leave request

  1. From the main Acel dashboard, click HR or HR & Payroll.
  2. Click Leave Requests.
  3. Click New Leave Request.
  4. Click the Employee dropdown and select the employee requesting leave.
  5. Click the Leave Type field and select the correct type, such as Annual or Sick.
  6. Click Start Date and select the first leave day.
  7. Click End Date and select the last leave day.
  8. Enter the number of Days.
  9. Enter the Reason.
  10. Click Save. The request should appear as Pending.

Review pending leave

  1. In HR, click Leave Requests.
  2. Click the status filter if available and select Pending.
  3. Click the pending request row, or click View or Edit.
  4. Confirm the Employee, Leave Type, Start Date, End Date, Days, and Reason.

Approve or reject

  1. Click the pending leave request row.
  2. If the leave is acceptable, click Approve.
  3. Enter an approval Note if the roster, manager, or schedule context matters.
  4. Click Confirm or Save Approval.
  5. Return to the leave request list and confirm the status is Approved.
  6. If the leave should not proceed, click the pending request row and click Reject.
  7. Enter a rejection Note so the employee and HR team understand the decision.
  8. Click Confirm or Save Rejection.
  9. Return to the leave request list and confirm the status is Rejected.

Edit or delete a pending request

  1. Click Leave Requests.
  2. Find a request with status Pending.
  3. Click Edit.
  4. Update the dates, days, leave type, or reason.
  5. Click Save.
  6. To remove a mistaken pending request, click Delete and confirm the deletion.

This is the operational leave approval flow. Leave entitlement balances and statutory payroll effects should be reviewed separately when those policies are configured.
